Years ago, the 1st Friday of every month was earmarked for just one thing - Mountain Goat Brewery. You see, it was only at this time did they open their hallowed rolladoor to allow us into the revered enclaves of what was, at that stage, a small, concrete-walled factory. However, it's what went on inside that counts - the brewing of some of the finest ales you'll ever taste.
Back then, over the course of around 3 years I think I missed only a couple of those monthly opportunities to grab a pint or five, as fresh as it comes. While eating chili corn fresh from the BBQ, or later, wood fired pizzas we'd discuss how good it would be if they'd open EVERY Friday. It's a question I'd put to Dave (co-founder and head brewer) in the odd chat, over one of the many free pints he'd supplied me - after all, I was pretty loyal and I'd brought a LOT of people into the place. Alas, the issue was not theirs to control, as council restricted their soirees.
But then, Dave and the boys up stumps and moved to bigger, better and more expensive digs just around the corner. They could brew greater quantities of beer, and COULD OPEN EVERY FRIDAY! So what happens now? I find myself coming here even LESS often. But the Surefoot Stout is still great (now paid for with my own hard-earned), and will be better still once my mates arrive. And Dave's still up for a chat. Cheers!

[The mates did arrive, in good numbers.]
[The guys have a few brewery-only beers on tap at the moment. The 'ok' BigFoot stout (it wasn't as good as hoped, but stay posted as it's a work in progress) and an EXCELLENT India Pale Ale v2.0 - with Cascade hops and around 6.2%]
[Oh... and I got a free pint, just like the good old days]
I'm currently sitting in a branch of the organisation that's supposed 2 look after, and give me access to MY money.
They sent me a replacement card, which is now a MasterCard, instead of a Visa. Not wild about that - both the fact that it isn't Visa and that it was forced upon me. Anyway, they then deactivated the card that I had. Prob said something about that in the documentation they sent, but do YOU read all that? They should've had big red letters and a picture of my card with a red line thru it, saying this card won't work after this date. Coz, of course, I found out it didn't work when I was actually trying to use it.
So... I'm in the bank changing my PIN coz I can't remember the one they sent me with the new card I didn't want and low and behold, the new one wouldn't have worked anyway. When they felt the need 2 send me the card that I didn't want, they forgot to tell the card that I might want to use it with my accounts. So it didn't have any accounts associated to it, meaning it didn't work anyway.
A bit like the bank, really! 32 mins down and counting...
